CD Extra (also known as Enhanced CD, CD-E, E-CD,
and CD Plus) allows you to include on your CD a
track of data readable by a computer's CD-ROM
drive (but that will be properly ignored by a
standard CD player). This lets you include
photographs, liner notes, lyrics, webpages, links to
websites, and multimedia such as mp4 video,
along with your CD's audio tracks.
TSM's Basic CD Extra Authoring Package is $120
(additional to the cost of standard DDP or CD-R
master discs) and includes:
•
proper encoding of the master to all Blue
Book specifications
•
creation of an HTML Table Of Contents page
that opens the CD’s data contents and any
websites you wish to link to
•
creation of a simple text txt “read me” file
containing notes and instructions on how to
launch the multimedia content for those
browsing the CD’s data contents
What we need from you:
•
text saved as simple text (txt), rich text format
(rtf), Microsoft Word doc, or HTML
•
urls (web addresses) of any websites you wish
to link to
•
any logos or graphics you wish to have
appear on the HTML table of contents page
•
photos and image files saved as jpeg (jpg), tif,
gif or png
•
any other multimedia or application files,
such as videos (mp4, webm, mkv, etc.)
Additional charges are quoted on a per job basis
for encoding or converting multimedia files to
proper formats, or for the creation of additonal
content.
To figure out how many megabytes of space are
left over for the data portion
of
your Enhanced CD,
choose whether you wish
to keep the disc at up to
74 minutes total (which
some pressing plants
prefer), or up to the maximum 80 minutes, enter
the total time of your audio, and then hit the "Free
Space" button - in the calculator below:
